About
Each year the American Musicological Society (AMS) confers a number of awards and honors on educators, performers, and researchers who have made exceptional contributions to music studies and/or the teaching and performance of music. AMS awards and prizes, many named or established in honor of renowned music studies scholars and teachers, are among the most prestigious in the field. All awards are determined by a competitive process of nomination and committee deliberation and come with a small monetary prize. Guidelines and nomination forms for the Society’s 2025 awards are available on the relevant award page.
