About
Honorary Membership is a status conferred upon members in accordance with the AMS By-laws, III.A.5: “Honorary members shall be long-standing members of the Society who have made outstanding contributions to furthering its stated object and whom the Society wishes to honor.”
Honorary members are selected by a committee of the AMS Council each year. The committee considers and submits nominations to the Board of Directors for its meeting in late March. The Council votes formally on Honorary member nominations in the summer. Those elected to honorary or membership are normally informed in the fall.

This should be done no later than 28 March 2025. See the AMS Administrative Handbook for more information on the Council Committee on Honorary Members.
