Winter 2026 Chapter and Study Group Activities Funds Recipients
The American Musicological Society (AMS) is pleased to announce the winter 2026 recipients of Chapter Activities Fund and Study Group Activities Fund grants. Chapter and Study Group Activities Funds provide partial support for affiliate activities and programs, including symposia, keynote lectures, business meetings, and more. Congratulations to all recipients!
- The AMS New York State – St. Lawrence Chapter will use a Chapter Activities Fund grant to plan its annual chapter meeting to be held 1–2 May 2026 at the University of Toronto in Toronto, Ontario.
- The AMS Southwest Chapter will use a Chapter Activities Fund grant to support a keynote speaker its spring chapter meeting to be held 10–11 April 2026 at Texas A&M University – Kingsville in Kingsville, Texas.
- The AMS South-Central will use a Chapter Activities Fund grant to support a keynote speaker and other expenses for its spring chapter meeting to be held 20–21 March 2026 at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia.
- The AMS Midwest Chapter will use a Chapter Activities Fund grant to support a keynote speaker at its spring meeting to be held on Saturday and Sunday, 18–19 April 2026 at the the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Lincoln, Nebraska.
- The AMS Popular Music Study Group will use a Study Group Activities Fund grant to support its biannual Junior Scholars Symposium to be held 16–18 June 2026 at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. This symposium brings twenty (20) junior scholars and six (6) senior scholars together for a three-day workshop.
- The AMS Childhood and Youth Study Group will use a Study Group Activities Fund grant to launch a new monthly program entitled “Introspecting “Children’s” Music.” This Keynote Speaker series aims to introspect what is “children’s” about children’s music and will highlight notable scholars whose work explores interdisciplinary topics on music, sound, media, pedagogy, and other perspectives related to childhood and youth studies.
