CFP: AMS-Library of Congress & Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Lectures
Tuesday, September 28, 2021
The AMS is calling for proposals for its joint lectures with the Library of Congress and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Lecture proposals should be based on original research and aimed at a wider public. Proposals are due 18 January 2022. The AMS / Library of Congress Lecture Series is a public lecture program oriented to a mix of professional musicologists, musicians, music educators, and music lovers. All proposals should be written with this broad audience in mind. Proposals must be based, at least in part, on original research conducted in the Library of Congress archives. Proposals constructed to appeal to the widest possible audience will be preferred. To submit a lecture proposal, visit the application page. The AMS / Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Lectures provide a public forum that brings music research to a wider audience. Individuals who have based their research on topics oriented to the RRHOF Archives and Collections are invited to submit lecture proposals. Preference will be given to topics dealing directly with rock and roll music, but proposals dealing with neighboring traditions (i.e., blues, country, jazz, singer-songwriters, etc.) will also be considered. To submit a lecture proposal, visit the application page.
