About

The AMS/NYU Travel Grant program is an Annual Meeting travel grant program specially designed to promote the attendance and presentation of NYU students at the AMS Annual Meeting. The American Musicological Society (AMS) is hosted by and headquartered at New York University, and this grant program is intended to strengthen ties between the Society and the NYU community. Annually, the program provides two (2) grants of $1500 to support the presentation and attendance of NYU music studies students at the Annual Meeting. This grant does not include a waiver of the Annual Meeting registration fee.

Eligibility

Grants are available to NYU students who are attending the AMS Annual Meeting, with a preference for those accepted to present papers or give performances. You are eligible to apply for an AMS/NYU Travel Grant even if you have received one in the past, but awards are given preferentially to those who have not received funding in previous years. Eligible individuals are welcome to apply for multiple forms of AMS annual meeting travel support, but may only receive one type of annual meeting travel grant. In the event that an individual is selected to receive annual meeting travel support from two different AMS programs, the Society will offer the larger grant.
