Donate The AMS regrets to announce that former AMS member, Barbara Heyman, passed away on 9 May 2025 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 91.
Heyman held a PhD in Music History from The Graduate School of New York City. She wrote Samuel Barber: The Composer and His Music and published a thematic catalogue of Barber’s work. The Library of Congress houses the complete Barbara Heyman Research Materials on Samuel Barber.
