The American Musicological Society (AMS) is pleased to announce that Daniel Walden‘s article, “The Global Tonnetz,Journal of the American Musicological Society (2024) 77 (2): 447–509, has received the Society for Ethnomusicology (SEM)’s Bruno Nettl Prize for an “an outstanding publication [monograph, edited volume, article, or chapter in a book] contributing to or dealing with the history of the field of ethnomusicology, broadly defined, or with the general character, problems, and methods of ethnomusicology.”

“The Global Tonnetz” also received Honourable Mention for the Royal Musical Association’s Jerome Roche Prize for an “outstanding article by a scholar in the early stages of their career.” Congratulations, Daniel!
