Matthew Mendez Receives Irving Lowens Article Award

The American Musicological Society (AMS) is pleased to announce that Matthew Mendez‘s article, “History beyond Recovery: Julius Eastman and the Challenge of the Heterological,” Journal of the American Musicological Society (2024) 77 (1): 163–222, has received the 2026 Irving Lowens Article Award by the Society for American Music.
