Emily Travaline Joins JAMS as Editorial Assistant
The AMS is pleased to announce that Emily Travaline has joined the Journal of the American Musicological Society (JAMS) in the role of Editorial Assistant.
Emily Travaline is a PhD candidate in musicology at the Graduate Center at the City University of New York and an adjunct lecturer at Baruch College in New York City. Her interdisciplinary research spans nineteenth-century piano music, plainchant, aesthetics, and disability studies. Her recent projects examine sacred parenthood in medieval plainsong as well as the aesthetics and musical histories of Roman Catholic Compline, specifically following the traditions of the Order of Preachers. Her dissertation investigates disability and the medicalized biographies of Frédéric Chopin. She has previously worked as a collaborative pianist in Philadelphia, and she holds a bachelor’s degree in music theory and a master’s degree in music history from Temple University. Welcome, Emily!
