About

The Roland Jackson Award honors each year an article in the English language of exceptional merit in the field of music analysis. The award is made according to three separate subject categories, in successive years, as follows: 1) music from circa 1800 to the present; 2) music from circa 1600 to 1800; 3) music from before 1600.

For the 2026 award year, articles on music from circa 1600 to 1800 are eligible.

The Roland Jackson Award was established thanks a generous bequest by noted music historian and longtime AMS member Roland Jackson (1925-2015).
