Call for Lecture Proposals
The AMS / Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Lectures provide a public forum that brings scholarly work to a broader audience and showcases the musicological work of the top scholars in the field. All members who have based their research on musicological topics oriented to the RRHOFM Archives and Collections are invited to submit lecture proposals; nominations for potential speakers are also encouraged. Preference will be given to topics dealing directly with rock and roll music, but proposals dealing with neighboring traditions will also be considered, including blues, country, jazz, as well as hip-hop, singer-songwriters, and offshoots in world music. Lectures are presented at the Foster Theater at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. Lectures will be made available as webcasts on the website of the AMS. The AMS provides funding for the cost of domestic transportation, two nights' lodging, and meals.
Please submit proposals of approximately 500 words and a current CV via the form below. (Submit one file that combines both documents.) Submit MS Word or PDF files. A three-member committee drawn from the Committee on Communications evaluates the applications. Lecturers for Fall and Spring will be notified by 15 February 2020.
Submit your proposal using the form below. Deadline for receipt of proposals: 15 January .
