Help Us Honor Bob Judd's Legacy

Wednesday, August 19, 2020

A year ago this month, the AMS community was shocked to hear that our longtime and much loved Executive Director, Bob Judd, passed away suddenly. He had been our Executive Director for 23 years, helping to steer the Society through a great expansion of our activities, programs, grants, and awards, and his genial spirit helped to make everyone feel welcome at our annual meetings and throughout the society.

Bob Judd

Among Bob’s main concerns in recent years were to help the AMS achieve financial stability and to fund the infrastructure needed to support the growing activities of the Society and its members. To honor Bob’s legacy and to ensure the Society’s future, last fall the AMS Board named the position of executive director the Robert F. Judd Executive Director and established the Robert F. Judd Fund in his memory to endow the position and support the operations of the AMS office.

We invite you to contribute to the Robert F. Judd Fund. Around $500,000 has been raised or pledged so far, bringing us halfway to our goal of $1 million. Please consider making a donation to the Judd Fund here or by check at American Musicological Society, 20 Cooper Square, 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10003. If you made a gift last year, please consider giving again this year. No amount is too small.

Sincerely yours,
Jessie and Peter
