JAMS: Message from the Editor-in-Chief

Wednesday, July 29, 2020

Dear members of the AMS community,

As the global pandemic continues to disrupt and reshape our daily lives, JAMS has not been spared. The end of the summer has brought a significant number of submissions. But the review process has slowed considerably, as reviewers are struggling to navigate unfamiliar and expanding obligations to family, students, and administrative work. The editors and members of the Editorial Board are experiencing these stresses as well. For these reasons, work on JAMS has slowed down. Issue 73.3 has just entered production, about two months later than we’d anticipated. Upcoming issues in volume 74 will no doubt arrive late as well, and they may appear with a somewhat more limited amount or range of content than you may be accustomed to. I am writing to thank everyone for their patience, and especially to thank all the authors and reviewers who are continuing to move our shared projects forward during a very challenging time.
